SAN FRANCISCO LEVEL I AT FORT MASON

The San Francisco workshop welcomes beginning and experienced poets and fiction writers to the first live Writers Studio workshop offered in California. Based on the 20-year-old NYC program where Jennifer Egan, Walter Mosely, Martha McPhee, and Lesley Dormen studied, The San Francisco writing workshops will follow the model that has helped thousands of writers reach their potential. Each week students will read excerpts from classic and contemporary literature and work on exercises to master the literary techniques studied.

The San Fransisco program is led by Mark Peterson, a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz. An experienced editor, poet and fiction writer, Mark studied in the NYC Writers Studio master class, and trained in the Writers Studio method under Philip Schultz, founder and director.

Classes will meet once a week for 10 weeks at the Fort Mason Center, located at the intersection of Marina Boulevard and Buchanan Street in the Marina district. Writers interested in joining the class may contact Mark directly at 415-321-9728.
