SF Student Cecile Barlier Wins Grace Paley Prize For Short Fiction

San Francisco Master Class writer, Cécile Barlier, has just won the Association of Writers & Writing Programs Grace Paley Prize for Short Fiction, for her manuscript, A Gypsy’s Book of Revelation. Dan Chaon, this year’s Paley Prize judge, begins his comments, saying “This collection has an astonishing range of styles and subject matters—it seems that there’s no character or situation the author is afraid to explore, and the stories are full of surprising experimentation and a balance between realism and the weird that I found deeply compelling.”
