Founded by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Philip Schultz, The Writers Studio welcomes beginning and experienced fiction writers and poets to ongoing writing workshops designed to help them discover and nurture their own voices. Hailed by The New York Times as “the most personal of the programs,” The Writers Studio is founded on the belief that when the desire to write is strong enough, anyone can learn the craft necessary for full creative expression.
The Writers Studio Hudson Valley, the newest Writers Studio branch, offers ten-week creative writing workshops in Hudson, NY. Our Writers Studio branch follows the model that has helped thousands of writers reach their full potential since the school was founded in New York City in 1987.
The workshops are designed to help writers discover and nurture their own voices through close, guided readings of diverse texts and writing exercises that illuminate crucial narrative techniques, namely persona narrator, mood, and tone.
The Writers Studio Hudson Valley classes meet once a week for ten weeks at 730 Warren Street, Hudson, NY. Students may take either one ten-week session or continue through a series of progressively demanding workshops.
