Students who enter the Intermediate Workshop are familiar with the technical terms that are the building blocks of The Writers Studio approach. There is increased focus on creating an individual voice and giving an emotional atmosphere or mood to each piece. This class asks students to recognize the specific qualities that make a narrative or poem engaging and entertaining to the reader. The goal of this class is to help students use a full range of techniques in order to create and sustain an effective artistic distance. Students begin to access greater emotional freedom and depth in their work. Students follow the Craft Class syllabus (along with readings distributed by the teacher) from which exercises are taken. Students at this level are identifying their material and beginning to work on completing stories and poems. Students can move into an Online Level III class after taking a Writers Studio Tucson Intermediate Workshop.

Open only to students who have completed The Writers Studio Tucson Workshop and upon the recommendation of the teacher.

Writers Studio Tucson classes meet once a week for 10 weeks at Storyland, 1202 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85719. For more information, please contact Renee Bibby:  520-591-8795 or [email protected]
