Level 2 is for students who have completed two terms of Level 1 and are eager to learn additional craft. The weekly routine is much like that of Level 1, but the assignments, discussion, and critiques delve more deeply and broadly into the process of creating and sustaining a strong narrative voice, and exploring the power of creating tension between the narrator’s tone of voice and the piece’s underlying mood. Some of the eight weeks are spent revising and deepening exercises from earlier in the term.
Class meets in Greenwich Village at The Village Community School at 272 West 10th Street. Bring a photo i.d. to sign in at the front desk.

The teacher’s comments on the first exercise helped me tremendously with rewrites. They alone were worth the cost of the class!
