Students at this level have a solid grounding in the tenets and technical terms that are the building blocks of The Writers Studio approach. Focus turns to enriching the work by creating an individual voice and tapping into an underlying emotion. This class asks students to recognize the specific qualities that make a narrative or poem engaging and entertaining to the reader.
The Tucson Advanced Workshop follows the Craft Class syllabus (along with readings distributed by the teacher) from which exercises are taken. Students at this level are tapping into their personal material and beginning to work on completing stories and poems.
Writers Studio Tucson classes meet once a week for eight weeks. For more information, please email Phil Ivory at email@example.com.
Open only to students who have completed The Writers Studio Tucson Intermediate Workshop and upon the recommendation of the teacher.
Students in the Advanced Workshop may move into an Online Level 3 class with the permission of the online teacher.
I wanted to thank you for one of the most constructive, kind, encouraging, and supportive classes I have yet to experience in my writing world. I learned so much from the critiques, not only of my own work but also from reading everyone’s pieces and listening to you explore with each of us how we might move forward and make breakthroughs, however small, in our writing. I’m just so excited I’m here!
